Seams of Memory is a series that treats the surface of the canvas as a living body — vulnerable, capable of being wounded and of healing. The artist works with the tear as a deliberate gesture: the cut canvas is not concealed but emphasised and “gathered” with mosaic, which is set into the line of damage and turns it into a source of light and meaning.
In mixed media (canvas, acrylic, relief pastes, mosaic) a layered materiality emerges, where the softness of the surface, the roughness of texture and the hardness of the mosaic fragments enter into dialogue. Destruction becomes a form of restoration, and the scar becomes the central element of the composition.
The project addresses personal and collective trauma, proposing a visual language in which acknowledging vulnerability becomes the foundation of a new wholeness.
